Jenny introduced me to Paulo Coelho few years ago and I did enjoy it very much, but did not realize that so many people still walk the walk. . Since that time I have picked up a few travel books that were pilgrimages but still I did not realize the extent of this until I heard Couineau tapes and his many of others who took the pilgrimages through the centuries and wrote about them.. SO…I went on an Amazon hunt and a new world opened up. My first order and recommended reading besides Cousineaus book first are: Pilgrimages (Adventures of the spirit ) It is a collection of personal adventures while on pilgrimage and A Womans path edited by Lucy McCauley; herself a pilgrim.

Dear, dear Jane , I come home from a retreat with other writers and to find you once again. Shall look out for Coelho and know that we have been on a pilgrimage through this long life. My own way just now has been to try to reach far into the past, to retrieve some knowledge of the how and why of it all. with love, Fran
